Environmental cooperation with Russia
Swedish Environmental Protection Agency’s cooperation with Russia has been going on since 1994. Through the years, more than 90 projects were implemented in the areas of water and marine environment, nature conservation, environmental protection and environmental education.
German pavilion
For the first time the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy supports a German Pavilion for the trade fair troika ECWATECH / No-Dig / CityPipe from 26 to 28 April 2016 in Moscow. This is the largest water technology exhibition in Eastern Europe and for decades has been renowned in Russia as the leading fair for municipal water technology as well as for process water applications in industry.

Russian Water Treatment Technology in Serbia
The holding company RT-Chemcomposite, a subsidiary of Rostec State Corporation, will implement a pilot testing of water treatment and disinfection technology based on compound disinfectant "Chlorine Dioxide and Chlorine" producing by DX-100 type units at a water plant in the city of Nis, Serbia.
VTB provides credit to Nizhegorodsky Vodokanal
VTB has opened a five-year, RUB 800 million credit line for Nizhegorodsky Vodokanal, a water supply and wastewater treatment company in Nizhny Novgorod. The funds will be used to renovate and upgrade water supply and wastewater treatment infrastructure under a concessionary agreement with the city administration.
Water Supply and Sewage Treatment Plants of Russia: survive or grow?
All Russian water utilities, especially small and medium-sized, experience common difficulties: poor water quality, lack of development and import dependence of technologies, depreciation of fixed assets, shortages of qualified personnel, underfunding of the industry. What are the opportunities for overcoming these challenges? In addition to cutting costs (perhaps for 5-15%, which is not enough), possible increase in tariffs for water and sanitation, the transition to a single water treatment technology which may be interesting for investors when combining water utilities, as it will be a major project and actual joining.
Russia to invite more private sector participation
Russian president Vladimir Putin has announced plans to hive off underperforming water utilities into the private sector by 2016 in a bid to improve the performance of national infrastructure.
